1. Mystic Mountains:
5 stars “Harsh Reality, Convict and Love” Rosemary Morris on July 31, 2019
“Isabella O’Shea arrives in Botany Bay, the penal colony in Australia after enduring prison in England and a long voyage. While she waits to be assigned to a master, Tiger Carstairs, whose ambition is to own land beyond the Blue Mountains and marry a wealthy, upper class girl to advance in society, notices Isabella. Handed over to Tiger a handsome, wealthy Englishman Isabella detests him. She hates “the gentry with their fine clothes, finicky manners and hearts as cold as stone”.
Isabella and Tiger are proud and stubborn and as time passes refuse to admit they are attracted to each other. Born into a poverty- stricken family Isabella knew what it was to be part of a close, loving family. In this foreign land she misses them unbearably which leads to tragic consequences. Ms McGill reveals the degradation suffered by convicts, the bawdy women and lusty men. She also reveals the courage needed to survive and advance in a harsh land. I enjoyed Mystic Mountains which is well-researched and very well written and look forward to reading the sequel.”

2. Distant Mountains:
5 stars cp 56 Great Series
Love It, now reading the rest. Enjoyed the follow up book. Love at first sight and continued throughout. Easy read and history includes convicts hard time in early 1800. Worth reading both books. Elle

3. Challenging Mountains:
5 stars Diane Scott Lewis “Exciting Australian Adventure”
Set in 1840s Australia, a land fraught with hardship, Ms. McGill writes a well-researched story of adventure and romance. Jo and Tim forge a life in this wild land, overcome many dangers as the author weaves in the settling of New South Wales. I enjoyed learning about the history of Australia. This is book three of the Settlers series but can be read as a stand-alone.

4. Annie's Choices:
5 stars:An engaging historical set in Australia Susan Verified Amazon Purchase.  “Ms. McGill pens an excellent 1800’s historical story located in Australia. There’s a mix of the life and times, a coming of marriage age, incredible landscapes, a murder-mystery, an evolving romantic relationship, and family ties all wrapped in an intriguing, tastefully written gemstone of a story. If you haven’t read any of Ms. McGill’s novels, this is a good one to check out. Her Settlers series are stand-alone books, so you can start reading them in any order…and you’ll end up reading them all.”
